What is composite decking made of?
Nowadays, composite decking is a popular flooring material that combines the advantages of traditional wood and plastic flooring. Composite decking has a longer lifespan than natural wood and can resist insects, rotting, and cracking. Compared to plastic flooring, it is sturdy and elastic, retaining the feel of real wood in its appearance and looking more natural.
Composite decking is made of approximately 90% wood fiber and recycled plastic. Due to using recycled materials, composite decking has minimal impact on the environment. In addition, we also add about 10% additives in the manufacturing process, which help stabilize the plastic, prevent UV rays, and color the boards.
Techwoodn offers two types of composite decking: uncovered and covered. They are also made of wood fiber and plastic, and the main difference between the two is that the covered ones are added with an additional layer of polymer shell (for details, please refer to this article: What is the difference between capped composite decking and uncapped? ).
